professional development

We recently heard from one of our contacts on the upcoming Montessori Convention in Kuala Lumpur on 30-31 May. By the time word got to us, we were too late to register for the early bird, but there is still the group registration offer.

The Convention is said to offer the latest developments in the world of Montessori today.  It will feature among others Lee Havis founder and director of International Montessori Society (IMS).

Speakers will address current issues and challenges faced by Montessori education worldwide. Papers will centre on the theme “Montessori Leading the Way in Reinventing Teaching and Learning”.

All our classes on 30 May will therefore be rescheduled to Saturday 13 June to allow students to participate in this event.

On 7 March, SEGi College will be hosting an Early Childhood Career Fair at the Subang Jaya campus from 10am to 5pm. This will be an excellent opportunity for taskas, tadikas and enrichment centres to meet meet qualified personnel, eager to join the industry. In addition to our early childhood graduates who number more than 1000, we also have over 100 current students looking for centres to carry out their teaching practice.
One of the highlights of the Fair will be an early childhood professional talk by Ms Puspa Sivan who will remind us of the need to to take into account the realities and accountabilities of being an early childhood educator.
